• Drinking Water Week 2026

    News12 New Jersey recently visited the Passaic Valley Water Commission's Little Falls Water Treatment Plant during Drinking Water Week. They highlighted PVWC’s major milestone of removing and replacing thousands of lead service lines in Paterson, Passaic, Clifton, and Prospect Park.

    PVWC Executive Director Jim Mueller also shared tips with News12 New Jersey on identifying leaks to help customers avoid higher water bills and discussed ongoing water main replacement projects currently underway throughout the service area.

There will be restricted parking along Reservoir Avenue and lane closures on Grand Street. There will also be a sidewalk closure along Grand Street until February 2026.     Levine Reservoir System Testing – August 5–8, 2025

    The Passaic Valley Water Commission (PVWC) will be conducting a system test that involves operating large valves to evaluate our ability to take the Levine Reservoir out of service.

    What We’re Doing and When:

    • Beginning Tuesday, August 5 at 8:00 AM through Friday, August 8 at 4:00 PM, PVWC crews will operate major system valves as part of this important test.

    What to Expect:

    During this period, customers may experience:

    • A slight drop in water pressure

    • A possible increase in water turbidity (cloudiness)

    What You Can Do:

    If you notice changes in pressure or water clarity, please report them immediately to our Customer Service Team at 973-340-4300 (option 2).

    Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work diligently to continue upgrading our system.
